Macao has an excellent bus service covering the Macao peninsula, Taipa and Coloane. There are screens displaying the name of the next bus stop and announcements done in English, Portuguese, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Pay with MacauPass (cheaper!) or in cash, but make sure you have the exact amount as buses have a strict No Change policy.

Taking taxi makes more sense in areas that are not easily accessible by bus. The flagdown rate is MOP 19 + MOP 2 for every 240 meters or every minute it’s not in motion. Additional MOP 3 charge for each piece of baggage in the compartment.
